Fear and Failure: A part of Life

When we say the word FEAR, the first thing that strikes in our head is GHOSTS, and the ghost in our lives is FAILURE.

What is life for us? One where we get all? No, we don’t and when we don’t we say, “we have failed in it”. Life has never ever been perfect for anyone of us. We fail in our lives daily. You might be thinking, “Huh, how can that be?” So, let me take you to its tour. We all have a habit of setting a target for daily work, for example, we tend to set a goal to complete some subjects in a day but we cannot do the whole and then we fear that all is piling up and when will I complete.

The fear of failure in life is real be it for exams or jobs also. Few of us are in college and we fear that if I fail in a subject, I will get a backlog and it will make me look like a failure in front of others as I have to give the exam again and people might think that I am a fool and pretend to be an intelligent one. Maybe that’s not the whole truth. Maybe you gave a good exam and your paper was not corrected or your internal marks were not sent or maybe you couldn’t study the day before exam due to some emergency. But yes the fear of that Failure sometimes holds us back.

Like the ones who are preparing for the Competitive exams have the fear that they might make a fool out of them in the exam and would not even score marks in positive. But how can you be so sure? Maybe you get questions that are damn easy and you scored well, or you have done your preparation in the right manner and now you do well in the exam, or for the ones who didn’t study but their guesswork is so strong that they do “Jai Mata Di” tick the answers and get them correct (like the sequence in the movie Student of the Year).

Yes, there is another part that is also frightened that is the part who gave exams a few times and have not succeeded or the ones who have given exams and went to SSB or AFSB and have been rejected. They have the fear that they will never succeed or if it happens again people will laugh at them.

There are a few who have a degree and sitting at home, waiting to get a job and a few who have a job. The ones sitting at home without a job are thinking about what will happen with their future and what if they don’t be successful in which everyone is looking up to them for. And the ones at home doing jobs (work from home people) are frightened what if they don’t be up to the mark which the company is asking them to be or if they fail and are taken out of the company.

“Life is an easy journey” has never been said by anyone, be it a famous personality or the poor people living in small houses. For them also it has come by the hard way. Your parents are the proof of it. You have a smooth life where you get food for survival and have a family that cares. COVID has been a bummer in our life but you are facing that with head up isn’t that fighting with fear. This spirit of fighting against fear is what we need to apply for the other problems in our lives. If you want to succeed in life and wanna see the other side of the road to your goal you have to work hard because results never come for free. We have to work for it and make it reach our potential, we have to work on ourselves and improve to be a better version to excel in all hardships in life.

We are social animals and the lucky ones, as we have people in our lives who love us and support us when we fail like our parents, family, friends. Think of those animals who fail and have none around to save them or support them. We have the best story of the ant who never takes the obstacles to be the end of its path. They make another path to reach their goal. “You are a vehicle and life is an unknown road. If you are having hard times, stay strong and stay put. You will reach your destination with the correct road soon.”

There is a saying that if one door closes, life gives us chance with the other doors. Grab the opportunity and excel in it. Be like the mighty tiger who waits until it knows it will succeed. We all fail many times to reach our goal because life is not only about good things and success, life is full of failure and fear but yes one only succeeds if they are determined and never wanna drop their weapons after seeing one failure. So Face your fear and failure and get back as an improved and improvised you because Failure is not the opposite of Success but a part of it.

As said by Richard Brown
“Do not be embarrassed by your Failure,
Learn from them and start again.”

And by Winston Churchill
“ Success is not final, failure is not fatal:
It is the courage to continue that counts”
