GD, or Group Discussion is a session where a candidate gets an opportunity to express themselves in the group, play with the group dynamics, and showcase their leadership, competence, etc. This is an integral part of the 5 days Service Selection Board process. Candidates have to choose a topic from the list given, and discuss the same for a short while. Some advises for the GD in SSB/AFSB are:
- Listen to GTO’s briefing carefully regarding GD.
- Avoid negative body language and lousiness. Avoid hand movements.
- Avoid below average topic, unless you can make that topic very interesting. Also avoid any topic that is too technical as you might run out of facts.
- DO NOT SHOUT/SCREAM.
- Put your points logically so that people accept it.
- DO NOT ABUSE IN THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT.
- You are not the only person right. Hence support other’s opinions and contribution too.
