YOUR ONE-OF-A-KIND MUM

A mother is not someone who gives birth to a child, a mother is someone who brings life in a lifeless. Mother is that every figure in your life that supports you throughout the life. Starting from giving birth to the last breath. There are some people who throws babies in dustbins, you can not consider them as a mother, a mother is a person who takes you out from the trash and gives you a new life. A father, sister, brother can be a mother too. The beauty of this word ‘MOTHER’ lies within it. It is not only a word but also an emotion that carries the power of positivity and love with an emotional foundation. MOTHERING, is something we always need throughout life, it can be in endless forms, from giving birth to waving byes, from teaching to learning, from leading to following. Do you think, for all her selfless efforts, a single day is enough to celebrate that too with sentimental greeting cards and cakes? NOO right! If you are with your mother, respect the moment, celebrate her happiness every day. And trust me once you start doing the same, every day will be a mother’s day. The most precious gifts, we can give her is love, time, care, and most importantly respect.

“GOD COULDN’T BE EVERYWHERE, SO HE MADE MOTHERS”

And it’s true, a mother is always there at every phase of our life, whether it is or childhood or old age, whether it is a situation of pain or gain. When you are young, like very young, you are depending on your mother; she takes care of you from giving birth to holding hands till the entrance gate of your school. She always supports you. A mother’s womb is just like a nest for her, which she builds throughout 9 months but for you, it was a ‘kingdom’ where you are the only king/queen. It’s a kingdom of imagination, it can be a base camp, a castle or it can be a launchpad for you. Your civilization of imagination starts there and ends there. But for her, it is a nest in which’ SOULS ARE MELTED AND RESHAPED’ The moment when you have an emotional meltdown, she will come as a guardian angel to help, to support, to advise and she will be your best friend, gossip partner, and trust me she never fails to do that. Everything has two sides and aspects so do our society, all these were the bright side but you should also know about the dark one, there are some mothers for whom mother’s day isn’t a special or a great day. Ever wonder why so? Why after all these selfless efforts, a mother never gets the same back. Indeed, we cannot compare or weigh her love and care with anything in the world, only we can do is try to love and respect her in the same manner she did. But the truth is many don’t even try to. That’s why we can see a rapid demand for more old age homes. As per the 2015-2016 AISCCON (all India senior citizens confederation) survey 60% of elderly people living with their families face abuses and harassment, 66% are either very poor or below the poverty line and 39% have been either abandoned, lives alone or sent to old age home. And it is high time that we should think about it. Don’t celebrate her efforts for the sake of mother’s day that too with cards and cakes. Celebrate her love, care, teachings, and all her sacrifices which she has done for you, celebrate every day.

“GIVE ME AN EDUCATED MOTHER, I SHALL PROMISE YOU THE BIRTH OF CIVILISED, EDUCATED NATION”

(NAPOLEAN BONAPARTE)

And that’s so true, it should come as no surprise that an educated mother is leading various entities and civilized nations. Today when it’s pandemic, everyone is at home, some are enjoying it as a vocation and some are working from home. But a mother is the only profession who is working continuously without any leave even in this pandemic. It’s not about my mother or yours but every mother in the world is the real superheroes, they are working selflessly in this pandemic for you only. They are working round-the-clock, seven days a week to ensure smooth functioning. Perhaps we need to enrich our notions of what mothering is, at this level, for society to understand and value this contribution that women can and do make.   A message for all mothers:

I wish all of you a very happy mother’s day! I wish you all the happiness and love, may all your wishes and dreams come true. But please be a bit lazy! Please allow us 5 more minutes to sleep, please no more tindas at least in a week. It’s your day. Enjoy every moment of love and care. And after today you have to wait for a whole year again……………

A message for readers:

Every day is a mother’s day, father’s day, sibling’s day, grandparent’s day when you love and respect their efforts. Don’t limit their efforts to a single day, you don’t need to wait for a whole year to celebrate and to give presents, cards and all.

In fact all that they need, is to understand them, to take care of them and leave them free, don’t limit their boundaries. leave them free to express and explore and not to explain. Be with them and let them be with you.
