Why in news recently?
To boost as well as to lift up the prolonged fall down in country’s real estate sector amid the pandemic and in line with the government’s target for “Housing for all by 2022” Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Ministry of Housing and Urban affairs launched “CREDAI AWAS APP” and NARDECO online portal ” Housingforall.com” on JULY 31. He also released a guide book for an affordable rental scheme for migrants.
The CREDAI AWAS APP is an online platform to initiate exploring residential projects by CREDAI developers and approved by RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority) across the country. The buyers can directly contact the project developer and conclude on land related costs and construction prices. This can eliminate the mediators or the dealers in between which can enhance transparency and improve trust factor. The guide book “Affordable Rental Housing Complexes” was released to provide accommodation to migrants and urban poor on affordable rent prices.
The ARHC scheme is covered under “PRADHAN MANTRI AWAS YOJANA – URBAN (PMAY-U) ” [in regard to Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan]. The launching of such apps can help to build higher trust between the developers and the buyers and bring transparency and development by harnessing power of technology.
