WHAT IS PAN ?

  • PAN  stands  for  PERMANENT  ACCOUNT  NUMBER.
  • It is a ten digit unique alphanumeric identification  number .
  • It is issued by income tax department  under Indian Income Tax Act, 1961 .

  • Out of first five characters, FIRST THREE characters represents the alphabetic series running from AAA TO ZZZ.
